Windows XP Dialup Setup
- 1. Click on the "Start Menu" and then select "Control Panel".
- 2. Double click "Network Connections" icon.
- 3. Click "Create a New Connection" under Network Tasks.
- 4. Select "Connection to the Internet" and then click "Next".
- 5. Select "Set up my connection manually" and then click "Next".
- 6. Select "Connect using dial-up modem" and then click "Next".
- 7. Type "My56k" as the ISP name and then click "Next".
- 8. Enter in your local dialup number and then click "Next".
- 9. In the Username field, enter "yourusername@56kdialup.com"
(or yourusername@my56k.com as the case may be). - 10. In the Password field, enter your password in exact case.
- 11. Verify that all three check boxes are checked, and then click "Next".
- 12. The new connection wizard has been completed. Please check "add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and then click "Finish".
- 13. Double click on the shortcut on your desktop. Please verify that all
information is correct, and then click "Dial".
At this point the modem will dial and connect. Upon connection, the login box will drop down into the task bar. You are then connected to my56k.com. You can now open up your internet browser to explore the web.
